1.30.19 - Referee Exam and Membership Enforcement
All players in the 2019 High School Championships are required to be current members of US Squash and must have passed the online referee exam. Any player who has not passed the referee exam as of 30 minutes prior to the start of a team match will not be allowed to play in that match. Should that player subsequently pass the exam, he/she will be added back to the team line up in his/her original position for the following matches.

Any player submitted in a team's final lineup with an expired membership will be required to renew/buy their membership at the tournament desk during check in when US Squash confirms team rosters and lineup order for the weekend.

1.8.19 - Cut List Update
The initial cut list is now available, as determined by the posted order of entry policy. If your team made the cut, you will be listed on the 'View Teams' page at the top of the screen, and your position is confirmed in this year's championship.
 
Teams that did not make the initial cut are listed on the below waitlist in order of priority. Waitlisted teams will be sent an email before the end of this week regarding whether an additional facility was secured.

10.1.18 – Preliminary Venue Assignments

Please see below for the preliminary venue assignments for the 2019 U.S. High School Team Squash Championships. Preliminary venue assignments represent the facility at which each division is expected to play matches over the course of the tournament. Preliminary venue assignments are subject to change based on the final number of teams that are registered at the regular entry deadline.
 
The preliminary venue assignments table has been removed because the final venues were announced on January 9, 2019.
 

 

9.19.18 - Tournament Size Cap

Due to the continued growth of the High School Championships, a maximum of 180 teams will be allowed entry in order to ensure the event can be completed within the scheduled three days of competition. Should registrations exceed the 180 team cap, the following criteria (listed in order of priority) will be used to determine entry:  
  • Varsity/A/First team from each school per gender
  • JV/B/Second team from each school per gender
  • C/Third team from each school per gender
Note - within each category, the order will be determined by time of entry. For example, if there are 182 teams registered, the two C/third teams who registered last will be placed on the waitlist. Additionally, any team, regardless of level, that registers after the registration deadline will be placed on a waitlist, in order of entry time, below all teams that register prior to the deadline.
 
 
9.19.18 - Seeding Call Information
The Seeding Conference call is scheduled for Tuesday, January 2. While US Squash encourages coaches and team representatives to join the call if available, it is not required. On the call, we will discuss the methodology of how this year’s seeding process will work. Important call details are below:

Note: US Squash will aim to start as late as possible on Friday, but due to court constraints, many teams will likely need to begin matches as early as 8:00am.

Division/Seeding Process & Timeline:
Seeding Conference Call: to go over the methodology of how this year's seeding process will work, we will have an informational conference call on Friday, January 4, 2019, at 1:00pm EST. We encourage all coaches and representatives to participate. Call information will be sent to all registered teams.
 
Preliminary League Standings: will be available on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 by 9:00pm EST. There will be a petition period following this to allow coaches and representatives to provide evidence as to why their standing should change.
 
Preliminary Seeding #1: will be available on Thursday, January 10, 2019 by 9:00pm EST. There will be a petition period following this for coaches and representatives.
 
Preliminary Seeding #2: will be available on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 by 9:00pm EST. There will be a petition period following the release of this information for coaches and representatives.
 
Preliminary Seeding #3: will be available on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 by 9:00pm EST. There will be a petition period following the release of this information for coaches and representatives.
 
Final Divisions/Seeding: will be released on Friday, January 25, 2018 by 9:00pm EST.
 
Head-to-Head Results: only the top seven (7) positions in a head-to-head school match that have been recorded in the US Squash system will be factored into tournament seeding.

 

Entry Information:
 
$750 per team - Regular Entry Fee (received before Friday, January 4, 2019 at 12:00pm, NOON EST)
$825 per team - Late Entry Fee* (received after Friday, January 4, 2019 at 12:00pm, NOON EST)
 
*Please note that late registrations are not guaranteed entry into the tournament and will only be granted entry at the discretion of US Squash
 
Entries must be submitted online with a credit card – NO FAXES OR PAPER ENTRY FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED

Entry Policies:
  • Teams must have their schedules entered into the US Squash system by the regular entry deadline or the team will be removed and refunded from the High School Championships.
  • All teams must have a minimum of 7 players with current US Squash memberships and current referee certifications on their roster at the time of entry.
  • No refunds will be provided after the regular registration deadline. Note that any refund before the registration deadline is subject to a $20 non-refundable processing fee.
  • Final order of play does not need to be submitted until on-site registration at the event.
  • Teams can sign up for either the Boys’ or Girls’ division. Specific division assignments will be determined through the seeding process.
  • A maximum of 180 teams will be allowed entry in order to ensure the event can be completed within the scheduled three days of competition. Based on numbers from prior years, it is likely that all teams will be granted entry into the event; however, should registrations exceed the 180-team cap, the following criteria (listed in order of priority) will be used to determine entry:

Registration Instructions
In order to sign up a team for the tournament, follow the below steps:
 
Step 1: Enter Team Roster
  • Find your league on the US Squash Leagues page.
    • All will appear in the ‘High School Leagues’ category.
    • If your school is not formally associated with an SSP league and needs to be set up in the ‘High School Emerging Teams’ league, please email tournaments@ussquash.com.
    • If you cannot find your school team listed, please email tournaments@ussquash.com for immediate assistance.
  • Select your league
  • Select team division within league
  • Select team from list
  • Click on ‘Manage Roster’ in the upper left corner of the screen
    • Note - If you are not given the ‘Manage Roster’ option, you are either not logged into your US Squash account or you do not have admin rights for the team. If you are the coach or team organizer and need admin rights to the team, please email tournaments@ussquash.com for immediate assistance.
  • Use search field to find players.
Note – In order to register a team for the High School Championships, a minimum of seven (7) players with current US Squash memberships and current referee certifications must be listed on the team roster.
 
 
Step 2: Register Team for Tournament
  • Go to the tournament information page and click ‘Sign Up’
  • Use the dropdown menu to:
    • Select your league
    • Select your division
    • Select your team
  • Select your division of play in the tournament
    • Co-ed teams should sign up for the ‘Boys’ Division’
  • Enter team contact person, email, and phone number
  • Submit payment

 

 

2018 - 2019 Eligibility Criteria for Entering a Team:
  • All participants must be current US Squash members through the last day of the tournament.
  • All participants are required to have passed the correct age appropriate referee exam before the start of the tournament.
  • All participants must be currently enrolled and attending classes at the school they will represent.
  • Each team must have a minimum seven (7) players on their roster in order to compete.  Matches are played with seven players from each roster.
  • Teams must enter results in the US Squash software against a minimum of 4 different opponents by January 20, 2019. Play against a team’s own school (i.e. School A Varsity v. School A JV) does not count towards the required number of opponents.
    • If a school is interested in bringing multiple teams to the High School Championships (i.e. School X Varsity and School X JV), all teams must adhere to the above policies.
    • Teams without matches scheduled on the US Squash website by the regular registration deadline will be removed from the tournament and refunded their entry fee less the processing fee
  •  Team and player participation in the tournament is ultimately at the discretion of US Squash.
 
NOTE: Teams comprised of players from multiple schools may compete if their school district and individual schools sanction the team as having varsity status and that team competes in a US Squash SSP accredited league.
 
NOTE: In circumstances where a school is geographically isolated from other schools and unable to participate in 4 matches before the regular registration deadline, US Squash may provide an exception to waive the minimum match policy. Schools that believe they fit into this category must contact US Squash at tournaments@ussquash.com and ask for an exception before the regular registration deadline.

  • This tournament is accredited by US Squash.
  • All US Squash Accredited Tournaments must abide by the policies outlined here.
 
Code of Conduct
  • All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators must abide by the US Squash Code of Conduct.
  • All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators should review the Rules of the Road for tips and tricks on how to manage common scenarios that may occur at tournaments.
 
Protective Eyewear
  • All players and attendees must comply with the US Squash Eyewear Policy, which requires that eyewear meet ASTM-F803 standards at all times during accredited play.
