3.15.2017 - Tournament Update
 
ONLINE DRAWS NOW AVAILABLE
Online draws are now available on the US Squash website. Please go to the Tournament Home Page  to view your draw. Note that matches are being played at both Harvard and MIT, so please make sure to double check where you are playing. Facility locations are expained on the Venues tab of the tournament page.
 
SATURDAY NIGHT SPORTSMANSHIP PRESENTATION AND AWARDS CEREMONY
US Squash will host an awards ceremony at 7:00pm on Saturday, March 18 at the Harvard squash courts. All players, parents and coaches are encouraged to attend the event where Kevin Klipstein, President and CEO of US Squash, will speak about promoting the values of good sportsmanship. In addition, we will recognize the recipients of the William T. Ketcham Jr. Most Improved Award, the DeRoy Sportsmanship Award, as well as the graduating seniors and their parents.  
WILLIAM T. KETCHAM JR. AWARD - MOST IMPROVED PLAYER
The William T. Ketcham Jr. Award for Most Improved Player recognizes players who have demonstrated complete dedication to the sport by significantly raising the level of their game.  The boy and girl in each division who displayed the largest increase in ranking from March 16, 2016 to March 1, 2017 and also qualified for and competed in the 2017 U.S. Junior Squash Championships (Closed) will receive the award.  Please note that in order to be considered for this award, players needed a ranking in the same division on both March 16, 2016 and on March 1, 2017. This year's recipients are:

The DeRoy Sportsmanship Award is presented to one female and one male high school senior who has displayed exemplary sportsmanship on and off the court while competing at a high level of squash.   
 
 
3.13.2017 - Weather Update
 
US Squash is continuing to monitor the weather that is forecast in the Northeast on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The system appears likely to cause travel disruptions through Wednesday, but should be clear of the region by the beginning of the event. Currently, the tournament will continue as originally scheduled. Players should allot additional travel time as necessary to ensure a safe arrival.

If changes to the tournament schedule become necessary, US Squash will contact all affected players via email as soon as the decision is made. In the event you experience a travel delay that will prevent you from arriving for a match, please notify US Squash immediately by emailing tournaments@ussquash.com.

PRACTICE COURTS
Practice courts are available at the Harvard squash courts on Thursday, March 16 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Courts are available on a first come, first served basis. Players should check-in with the fitness room desk in the back of the Murr Center to reserve a court. 
 
SATURDAY NIGHT AWARDS

The cut-list is now available from the view entrants page of the tournament listing. The waitlist is given in priority order. All late entrants will be added to the bottom of the waitlist.
 
All divisions are currently set at 30 players to allow for registration errors. The l2 players currently at the top of the waitlist will be added by 5:00pm EST Friday March 3rd assuming no errors.
 
Please note that players are listed by cutlist points - this does not necessarily correlate to seeding. 
 
2.14.17 - SECOND VENUE CONFIRMED
 
MIT will be used as the second venue for the tournament.
 
All U11 matches will be played at MIT on Friday.
 
Saturday, all U11 and U13 consolation matches will take place at MIT.
 
Sunday all matches will be played at Harvard.

Due to the size and logistical constraints of running this tournament, US Squash cannot accommodate any scheduling requests.

Note: All players who sign up after the regular entry deadline are considered late entries. These players should assume that they are on the waitlist unless they have been told otherwise by the tournament director
 
Note: once division sizes lock, they will not increase in size even if the division is not at capacity
 
Note: Once the online sign up has been taken down, no additional players will be added to the tournament.
 
Note: Players who withdraw from the main draw of a tournament after the late withdraw deadline will be penalized in accordance with the default and withdraw policy outlined in the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.

*Includes a non-refundable $10 processing charge per entrant.
 
Policies
-          No refunds will be issued to players who withdraw from the main draw after the regular entry deadline.
-          Players who remain on the waitlist and do not gain entry into their division will automatically receive a refund for their entry fee less the $10 processing fee within 1-2 weeks after the completion of the tournament.
-          All players must be current US Squash members.
-          Players may only be entered in one division.
-          All accredited tournaments will be governed by the policies outlined in the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.
-          All players who sign up after the regular entry deadline are considered late entries. These players should assume that they are on the waitlist unless they have been told otherwise by the Tournament Director.
 
Cancelling Entry or Changing Division
If a player wants to either withdraw from a tournament or request to change divisions:
 
1)      Log in to your account.
2)      Go to the “tournaments” tab on your profile.
3)      Click on the “Withdraw/Change Division” button next to the tournament you would like either withdraw from or change divisions in.
4)      Select “Request: Withdraw/Refund” or “Request: Change Division” and click submit
  • If selecting “Request Change Division,” choose the division you would like to change to and click submit.
  • If selecting “Request Withdraw/Refund” read all US Squash policies and check the “Yes, I wish to withdraw” box and click submit.
 
Once you submit your request, you will receive an email confirming that your request has been sent to the Tournament Director. If you have not received an email indicating that your request has been processed within 48 hours, please follow up with the tournament director directly.
Tournament Policies:
 
-          All players must be current U.S. Citizens.
-          All players must be current US Squash members.
-          All players must have a minimum of three active exposures (within the past 11 months) as of March 1, 2017.
-          Age eligibility for the Junior Closed Championships is based on a players’ age on March 1, 2017.
-          The cut list for the Junior Closed Championships is based on a players’ ranking on March 1, 2017.
-          Straight bracket seeding (1 v. 32, 2 v. 31, etc.) will be used.
 
Accreditation
 
-          This tournament is accredited by US Squash.
-          All US Squash Accredited Tournaments must abide by the policies outlined here.
 
Code of Conduct
 
-          All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators must abide by the US Squash Code of Conduct.
-          All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators should review the Rules of the Road for tips and tricks on how to manage common scenarios that may occur at tournaments.
 
Protective Eyewear
 
-          All players and coaches must wear protective eyewear during all activities involving racquets and balls that take place on a court at US Squash accredited events
