12.14.16 - General Tournament Information
PRACTICE COURT AVAILABILITY
Practice courts are available to players at Yale University only on Friday, December 16, 2016 between 11:00am and 8:00pm. Courts are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Players may not reserve courts ahead of time. Please limit time on courts to thirty minutes or less to provide practice opportunities for all players.
SHUTTLE SCHEDULES
US Squash will provide shuttles to the squash venues throughout the tournament. Shuttles will originate from the front of the Yale Squash Center (Payne Whitney Gymnasium, 70 Tower Parkway, New Haven, CT), across the street from the Courtyard Marriott, and will run directly to each venue. If you are staying at the Omni Hotel, there will be an hourly shuttle between the hotel and the Yale Squash Center. For those wishing to walk, please note that The Omni Hotel is only 6 blocks and less than a ten minute walk to the Yale Squash Center. The shuttle schedule will be posted in the lobby of the Omni Hotel as well as at all of the squash venues.

Choate Rosemary Hall: 45 Minutes ( Sat, Sun & Monday)

ABANDONING MATCHES
As a reminder, players must complete all scheduled matches throughout the tournament. Players abandoning the tournament prior to completion of their final match may be restricted from participating in the 2017 U.S. Junior Open.
If a player is unable to finish the tournament due to injury or other circumstance, the player may receive permission from the Tournament Director to waive the penalty.

US Squash thanks all players, parents, and coaches for participating in the seeding process over the past two weeks. The seeding committee received roughly 100 petitions in each round of preliminary seeding and has closely evaluated all evidence provided. 12.12.16 Practice Courts

SquashCares
This year SquashCares will be collecting gently used rackets and squash shoes from participants who would to donate to urban squash programs. So far SquashCares has collected and donated over 150 pieces of squash equipment to SquashBusters, City Squash, Squash Haven and the PSA's ReBound program. If you have any squash rackets or shoes which still have life in them, please bring them to the tournament and deposit them in the collection bin at your site. 11.18.16 - Cut List Now Available!

11.18.16 - Division Size Limits
Based on the number of players that signed up for the 2016 U.S. Junior Open, divisions have been limited to the following number of players. Based on the number of late entries or withdraws, US Squash reserves the right to adjust division sizes at any time. Division sizes will lock on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 12:00pm NOON, EST regardless of whether or not the division is full. Therefore, once the division sizes lock, they will not increase in size even if the division is below the designated limit.

11.18.16 - Venue Assignments by Division
Venue assignments disclose which facilities each division will be playing matches at over the course of the tournament. While US Squash understands the inconvenience of travel between different locations, the U13 and U17 divisions needs to be split between two different facilities due to the size of the tournament and available court numbers. US Squash will try to ensure that players have matches at only one facility on any given day.

Tournament Start/End:
Saturday, December 17, 2016: All players need to be available starting at 8:00am EST.
Tuesday, December 20, 2016: All players need to be available until 4:00pm EST.
Regular Entry Deadline:
The regular entry deadline for the 2016 U.S. Junior Open is at 12:00pm NOON, EST on Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
Cut List:
The Cut List for this tournament will be made available by 9:00pm EST on Friday, November 18, 2016. The Cut List uses the rankings calculation from 11/16/14. Divisions may be restricted in size due to court constraints and tournament logistics. US Squash maintains final discretion on all tournament matters.
Division Size Limits:
US Squash will set the maximum number of players in each division after the regular entry deadline based on the number of signups received. Additionally, the division sizes will lock on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 12:00pm NOON, EST regardless of whether or not the division is full. Therefore, once the division sizes lock, they will not increase in size even if the division is below the designated limit.
Division Start Times:
Division Start Times indicate the earliest possible match time a player can expect to play within their division and will be available by 9:00pm EST on Friday, December 9, 2016.

Player Start Times indicate the first match time for each player and will be available by 9:00pm EST on Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
Waitlist Closed:
The waitlist for the U.S. Junior Open will close at 10:00am on Thursday, December 15, 2016. Therefore, after this deadline, no players will be moved from the waitlist to the main draw and any withdraws after the deadline will be processed as defaults.

Main Draws will be available online by 9:00pm EST on Thursday, December 15, 2016.
Seeding Process & Timeline:
U.S. Player Seeding will be taken from the 11/16/16 Rankings Calculation.
Preliminary Seeding #1: The Preliminary Seeding #1 will be released on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 by 9:00pm EST. There will be a petition period following this to allow players, parents, and coaches to provide evidence as to why seeding should change.
Preliminary Seeding #2: Will be available on Saturday, December 3, 2016 by 9:00pm EST. There will be a petition period following this to allow players, parents, and coaches to provide evidence as to why seeding should change.
Preliminary Seeding #3: Will be available on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 by 9:00pm EST. There will be a petition period following this to allow players, parents, and coaches to provide evidence as to why seeding should change.

Refund Policy:
Players eligible for a refund:
Players who withdraw before the regular entry deadline or who withdraw from the waitlist will be eligible for a full refund less the $10 processing fee.
Players not eligible for a refund:
No refunds will be provided to players who withdraw from the main draw after the regular entry deadline has passed.
Note: Players may only enter one division.
Note: All players who sign up after the regular entry deadline are considered late entries. These players should assume that they are on the waitlist unless they have been told otherwise by US Squash. If there is a waitlist in a given division, late entries will be placed at the bottom of the waitlist behind all players who signed up before the regular entry deadline.

Players MUST provide this documentation to US Squash IN ADVANCE OF competing and may deliver it in one of the following ways:
- Take a picture and email the image to tournaments@ussquash.com. Note: pictures from Camera Phones are acceptable as long as the image is readable.
- Scan and email information to tournaments@ussquash.com.
- Bring copy or actual documents to registration at the U.S. Junior Open Squash Championships (this option is NOT recommended in order to help avoid problems and the possibility of not being permitted to compete).
- Note: FAXED DOCUMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!
Players that do not have their age verified before their first match may not be permitted to participate in this year’s event.
Note: US Squash has a record of all age verifications for players that participated in the 2015 U.S. Junior Open. It is still a good idea for players to have a photo copy of their passports in the event that US Squash does not have age verification records for certain participants.
International Players: Player Information and Letters:
In order to receive a letter of invitation to the tournament for visa purposes, players must:
- Register for the tournament online on the tournament information page.
- Complete the International Player Information Form.
- Verify age by sending an image of your passport to tournaments@ussquash.com.
- Optional: If you need an invitation to the event for travel purposes, send an email request to tournaments@ussquash.com.
Once you’ve completed these three steps, you will receive your invitation letter shortly thereafter. Any further questions can be directed to

International Players: Group Entries:
For International Groups that would like to register 4 or more players, please scan and email one of the following forms to
tournaments@ussquash.com. Please note that all the same Tournament Deadlines and Fees apply. NO FAXED ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Withdraw Information:
If you need to withdraw from the tournament, you must do so by sending an email to
tournaments@ussquash.com with the subject “Withdraw – USJRO.” It is the responsibility of each player that has signed up for the tournament to check the ‘Cut List’ to ensure they have been withdrawn property.
Late Withdrawal Deadline
Players in the main draw who withdraw from the tournament after the late withdraw deadline will be penalized in accordance with the default and withdraw policies outlined in the
Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.
How to Withdraw or Change Divisions in a Junior Bronze, Silver, Gold, JCT, or National Championship Tournament
If a player wants to either withdraw from a tournament or request to change divisions, follow the directions outlined below:
- Log in to your account.
- Go to the “tournaments” tab on your player profile.
- Click on “Withdraw/Change Division” next to the tournament you would like either withdraw from or request a division change.
- Select “Request Change Division” or “Request Withdraw/Refund”
- If selecting “Request Change Division,” select the division you would like to change to and click “Submit.”
- If selecting “Request Withdraw/Refund” read all US Squash policies and check the “Yes, I wish to withdraw” box and click “Submit.”
- Once you submit your request, you will receive an email that states that your request has been sent to the Tournament Director. If you have not received an email indicating that your request has been processed within 48 hours, please follow up with the tournament director.
