The William T. Ketcham Jr. Award - Honorable Mention for Most Improved Player is to recognize players who have demonstrated complete dedication to the sport by significantly raising the level of their game.  The boy and girl in each division who displayed the largest jump in ranking from March 11, 2015 to February 24, 2016 and also qualified for and competed in that division in the 2016 U.S. Junior Silver Squash Championships will receive the award.  Please note that in order to be considered for this award, players needed a ranking in the same division on both March 11, 2015 and on February 24, 2016. This year's recipients are:
Boys' Under 11 - Carlo Caffuzzi (improved 42 positions)
Boys' Under 13 - Griffin L. Johnson (improved 45 positions)
Boys' Under 15 - Cameron Darnell (improved 115 positions)
Boys' Under 17 - Russell Scharf (improved 93 positions)
Boys' Under 19 - Wallace T. Miller (improved 87 positions)
Girls' Under 11 - Poppy P. Huffman (improved 18 positions)
Girls' Under 13 - Sophia Lee (improved 61 positions)
Girls' Under 15 - Margaret Y. Pearson (improved 50 positions)
Girls' Under 17 - Jackie Brenner (improved 76 positions)
Girls' Under 19 - Natasha Lowitt (improved 17 positions)
US Squash will host an awards ceremony at roughly 5:30pm on Saturday, April 16 at the Chelsea Piers Squash Courts.

In January US Squash announced a policy requiring one parent or guardian per junior player to have a separate US Squash account - free or paid - linked to that of his or her child(ren). All participants should have an established link to a parent's or guardian's account before the start of play. Any players who do not yet have an established link to a parent or guardian will be guided through this process by a US Squash employee at the registration desk.

Practice courts are available at both Chelsea Piers and Squash Alley. Please contact them directly should you wish to book a court.

-          The U.S. Junior Silver Squash Championships are restricted to players ranked number 33 and below as of the February 24, 2016 rankings run. Players that are age-eligible as of February 24, 2016 may compete in that age division even if they age out of the division before the competition.
-          All participants must have played in a minimum of three tournaments between March 21, 2015 and March 30, 2016.
-          Draw sizes will be limited to thirty-two players per division, selected based on descending order of ranking. If a player does not make it into a division based on his or her ranking, he or she may participate in an older age division if space remains in that division after the release of the cut list and in accordance with the late entry management guidelines.
-          All players must be current U.S. Citizens or U.S. Residents, as well as current US Squash members.
-          Players may compete in only 1 of the 3 U.S. Junior Individual Championships (not including the U.S. Junior Open Squash Championships).
-          Boys’ and Girls’ Under 11 Division Only: Players may participate in multiple U.S. Junior Championships in the Under 11 Division if they are qualified based on their ranking. In the event that a player chooses to play in multiple U.S. Championships in the Under 11 Division, that player will only receive points for the highest level tournament in which they compete. For example, a player competing in both the U.S. Junior Championships (Closed) and the U.S. Junior Silver Championships will only receive points in the U.S. Junior Championships (Closed).

-          NO REFUNDS will be issued to players who withdraw from the main draw after the regular entry deadline.
-          All players MUST be current US Squash members.
-          Players may only enter one division.
-          Please read through the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines for all policies governing Junior Accredited Tournaments.
-          All players who withdraw after 12:00pm NOON on the Wednesday 1.5 weeks before the start of the tournament will receive a ranking penalty as described in the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.

Timeline and Qualification
-          The cut list will be created within 48 hours of the regular entry deadline.
-          Division sizes will lock on the Wednesday 1.5 weeks before the start of the tournament. Once division sizes lock, division sizes will not increase in size even if the division is not at capacity.
-          All players who sign up after the regular entry deadline are considered late entries.  These players should assume that they are on the waitlist unless they have been told otherwise by the Tournament Director.
