Duke University's write-up The identity of Richmond´s #8 and #10 was not known, so the score sheet is incomplete. <BR><BR>This match broke fairly even at the top spots with Duke prevailing at positions 1,2 and 4, but the more experienced Richmond team swept the spots at the tail end of the ladder, winning positions 5-9. The match between #1s Shawn Tan from Duke and George Sternlicht of Richmond was terrific. It was played on the fantastic McArthur show court giving all players a chance to watch and the contestants did not disappoint, taking the bout the distance. Tan won the first two games barely, 13-11 and 11-7 before Sternlicht charged back to take the next two at 5 and 6, but Tan put his game back together in time to take the last game 11-3, perhaps relying on his superb fitness to finish the match.
