11.14.18 - CUT LIST NOW AVAILABLE
The cut list is now available for the 2018 U.S. Junior Open Squash Championships. To view, please go to the "View Entrants" section of the tournament page. All players who have made the cut are listed in the main draw of the tournament. Any player who is listed in the waitlist section is not currently in the tournament. Waitlisted players can view the correct waitlist order by clicking on the link below.
 
As a reminder, the cut list for U.S. players is based on the November 14, 2018 rankings calculation.
 
 
NOTE: In the BU17 and BU19 divisions, only 120 players are currently listed in the main draw of the tournament. The remaining 8 players will be moved off of the waitlist by 9:00pm EST on Monday, November 19, 2018.  This is to allow a grace period for any potential registration errors.
 
 
11.14.18 – DIVISION SIZE LIMITS
Division size limits are based on the number of players that have signed up for the 2018 U.S. Junior Open prior to the regular entry deadline and sets the maximum number of players that will now be accepted into the tournament in each division. US Squash will continue to accept late entries until each division limit is reached or until the online sign up is taken down on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 12:00pm, NOON EST.

US Squash reserves the right to adjust division sizes at any time based on the number of late entries or withdraws that are received.
 
 
11.14.18 – WAITLIST AND LATE ENTRY POLICIES
As of the regular entry deadline, only the BU17 and BU19 divisions required waitlists. Players listed on the waitlist will be moved into the tournament in the order they are listed on the waitlist document as players withdraw from the main draw of the tournament.
 
Please note that the BU17 division currently has two separate waitlists: one for U.S. players and one for international players. Therefore, players listed on the U.S. waitlist will only be used to replace withdrawing U.S. players and players listed on the international waitlist will only be used to replace withdrawing international players.
 
Any player who is signing up for the tournament at this point is considered to be a late entry. In divisions that already have a waitlist or have met or exceeded the division size limits, late entries will be placed at the bottom of the waitlist, behind any player that signed up prior to the entry deadline.

10/22/18: International Player Entry Numbers and Waitlist
 
As of October 22, 2018, the BU17 division has received over 80 international entries, and therefore, all additional international players trying to enter the BU17 division will be placed on a waitlist. The waitlist order will be based on the time that entry is received
 
 
10/4/18: International Player Cut List
As previously announced, the first 80 international players to sign up for the 2018 U.S. Junior Open prior to the regular entry deadline will be guaranteed a positions in the tournament. Admittance is based on the time of entry receipt (i.e. first come, first served). In the event that international player entries exceed 80 players prior to the regular entry deadline, players 81+ will be placed on a waitlist in order that their entry was received.
 
Please use the below link to see an up to date version of the international player cut list. All divisions are separated into different tabs and within each division, players are listed in the order that each entry was received. Therefore, any player listed in the top 80 in his or her division has made the cut and is guaranteed position in the 2018 U.S. Junior Open.
 
 
 
7/30/18: Tournament Shuttle Buses
During the 2018 U.S. Junior Open, players and spectators who intend to use the tournament shuttle bus must purchase tickets. Each shuttle bus ticket costs $30, is valid for only one traveler, and may be used throughout the duration of the tournament. Tickets may be purchased by clicking here.
 
Shuttle buses will run between the Doubletree Hotel and Courtyard Hotel in Andover and Phillips Academy and between Phillips Academy and the external facilities. There will be no shuttle bus service offered from the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge.

Tournament Start/End:
Saturday, December 15, 2018: All players need to be available starting at 8:00am EST.
Tuesday, December 18, 2018: All players need to be available until 6:00pm EST.
 
Regular Entry Deadline:
The regular entry deadline for the 2018 U.S. Junior Open is at 12:00pm NOON, EST on Wednesday, November 14, 2018.
 
Cut List:
The cut list for this tournament will be made available by 9:00pm EST on Friday, November 16, 2018. The cut list uses the rankings calculation from 11/14/18. Divisions may be restricted in size due to court constraints and tournament logistics. US Squash maintains final discretion on all tournament matters.Please refer to the new cut list process on the rules tab of this tournament listing.
 
Division Size Limits:
US Squash will set the maximum number of players in each division after the regular entry deadline based on the number of signups received in each age group.
 
Division Size Lock and Entry Close:
Division sizes will lock on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 12:00pm NOON, EST regardless of whether or not the division is full. Therefore, once the division sizes lock, they will not increase in size even if the division is below the designated limit. Online sign up will also close at this time.
 
Late Withdraw Penalties:
If a player withdraws after 12:00pm Noon EST Monday, December 10, 2018 they will incur a late withdraw penalty per the Us Squash Junior Policies and Guidelines.
 
Division Start Times:
Division Start Times indicate the earliest possible match time a player can expect to play within his or her division and will be available by 9:00pm EST on Friday, December 7, 2018.
 
Player Start Times:
Player Start Times indicate the first match time for each player and will be available by 9:00pm EST on Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
 
Waitlist Closed:
The waitlist for the U.S. Junior Open will close at 10:00am on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Therefore, after this deadline, no players are permitted to move from the waitlist to the main draw and any withdraws after the deadline will be processed as defaults.
 
Draw Availability:
Main Draws will be available online by 9:00pm EST on Thursday, December 13, 2018.
 
Seeding Process & Timeline:
U.S. Player Seeding will be taken from the 11/14/18 Rankings Calculation.
 
Preliminary Seeding #1: The Preliminary Seeding #1 will be released on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 by 9:00pm EST. There will be a 48-hour petition period following this release to allow players, parents, and coaches to provide evidence as to why seeding should change.

Refund Policy:
Players eligible for a refund:
Players who withdraw before the regular entry deadline or who withdraw from the waitlist will be eligible for a full refund less the $10 processing fee.
 
Players not eligible for a refund:
No refunds will be provided to players who withdraw from the main draw after the regular entry deadline has passed.
 
Note: Players may only enter one division.

Age Verification Required:
All players in the 2018 U.S. Junior Open Squash Championships are required to provide proof of age. Please click here to confirm if your age has been verified (the spreadsheet will be updated every Friday before 6:00pm, EST).

Players MUST provide age verification documentation to US Squash IN ADVANCE OF competing and may deliver it in one of the following ways:
  • Take a picture and email the image to tournaments@ussquash.com.
    • Note: pictures from Camera Phones are acceptable as long as the image is readable.
  • Scan and email information to tournaments@ussquash.com.
  • Bring copy or actual documents to registration at the U.S. Junior Open Squash Championships (this option is NOT recommended in order to help avoid problems and the possibility of not being permitted to compete).
  • Note: FAXED DOCUMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!
 
Players that do not have their age verified before their first match may not be permitted to participate in this year’s event.
 
Note: US Squash has a record of all age verifications for players that participated in the 2017 U.S. Junior Open. It is still a good idea for players to have a photo copy or digital copy of their passports in the event that US Squash does not have age verification records for certain participants.
 
International Players: Player Information, Seeding and Letters:
In order to be seeded correctly and to receive a letter of invitation to the tournament for visa purposes, players must:
 
Once you’ve completed these four steps, you will receive your invitation letter shortly thereafter. Participants may also be asked to provide proof of receipt of travel visas in advance of the tournament. US Squash will work with international players to provide invitation letters in a timely manner.
 
International Players: Group Entries:
For International Groups that would like to register 4 or more players, please scan and email one of the following forms to tournaments@ussquash.com. Please note that all the same tournament deadlines and fees apply. NO FAXED ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
 
 
 
Withdraw Information:
If you need to withdraw from the tournament, you must do so by sending an email to tournaments@ussquash.com with the subject “Withdraw – USJRO.” It is the responsibility of each player that has signed up for the tournament to check the ‘Entrants List’ to ensure they have been withdrawn property.
 
Late Withdrawal Deadline:
Players in the main draw who withdraw from the tournament after the late withdraw deadline will be penalized in accordance with the default and withdraw policies outlined in the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.
 
How to Withdraw or Change Divisions:
If a player wants to either withdraw from a tournament or request to change divisions, please follow the directions outlined below:
  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to the “tournaments” tab on your player profile.
  3. Click on “Withdraw/Change Division” next to the tournament you would like either withdraw from or request a division change.
  4. Select “Request Change Division” or “Request Withdraw/Refund”
    1. If selecting “Request Change Division,” select the division you would like to change to and click “Submit.”
    2. If selecting “Request Withdraw/Refund” read all US Squash policies and check the “Yes, I wish to withdraw” box and click “Submit.”
    3. Once you submit your request, you will receive an email that states that your request has been sent to the Tournament Director. If you have not received an email indicating that your request has been processed within 48 hours, please follow up with the tournament director.

Accreditation
  • This tournament is accredited by US Squash.
  • All US Squash Accredited Tournaments must abide by the policies outlined here.
 
Code of Conduct
  • All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators must abide by the US Squash Code of Conduct.
  • All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators should review the Rules of the Road for tips and tricks on how to manage common scenarios that may occur at tournaments.
 
Protective Eyewear
  • All players and attendees must comply with the US Squash Eyewear Policy, which requires that eyewear meet ASTM-F803 standards at all times during accredited play.
 
Policies
  • NO REFUNDS will be issued to players who withdraw from the main draw after the regular entry deadline.
  • All U.S. players MUST be current US Squash members.
  • Please read through the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines for all policies governing Junior Accredited Tournaments.
  • All players who withdraw after 12:00pm, NOON EST on the Monday prior to the start of the tournament will receive a ranking penalty as described in the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.
  • All players who sign up after the regular entry deadline are considered late entries. These players should assume that they are on the waitlist unless they have been told otherwise by the Tournament Director.
 
Eligibility
  • Draw sizes will be limited to 128 players per division prior to the regular entry deadline.
  • Once the regular entry deadline passes, US Squash will mandate draw size restrictions on a division by division basis.
  • A cut list will be created for divisions that receive more than 128 entries prior to the regular entry deadline.
 
U.S. Junior Open Cut List Policies
  • At the regular entry deadline, US Squash guarantees entry for the two following categories of players:
    • U.S. Players (Category 1): The top 48 U.S. players based on the cut list points calculation will gain entry. Cut list points will be based on the November 14, 2018 rankings calculation.
    • International Players (Category 2): The first 80 International players to enter the tournament will gain entry. Admittance is based on the time of entry received (i.e. first come, first served).
  •  If both categories are oversubscribed, US Squash will create two separate waitlists – one for U.S. players and one for International players.
    • Waitlist order for U.S. players will be based on cut list points on the November 14 rankings calculation.
    • The U.S. player waitlist will only be used to replace withdrawing U.S. players.
    • Waitlist order for International players will be based on the time of entry received.
    • The International player waitlist will only be used to replace withdrawing International players.
    • Players on the waitlist from one category can be used to replace a withdrawing player from the other category only if there are no players on the other category’s waitlist (i.e. a waitlisted International player can replace a withdrawing U.S. player in the event there are no players on the U.S. waitlist).
  •  If one category does not fill the number of guaranteed playing positions as of the regular entry deadline, players from the other category will fill those unclaimed spots.
    • E.g. if 75 International players register before the deadline, and more than 48 U.S. players registered prior to the deadline, U.S. players will fill the 5 unclaimed positions, increasing the number of U.S. players from 48 to 53.
  • Any player entering after the November 14, 2018 deadline is considered to be a late entrant and is not guaranteed a position in the main draw. Late entrants will be placed on separate waitlist behind all players who signed up before the entry deadline (U.S. or International).
 

Phillips Academy - Andover (Main venue - 18 courts)

Friday, December 14th, courts 11-14 will be avilable from 3pm to 11pm. There will be a charge for each player who comes to practice during that time $10.00 per hour.  Participants will be required to sign in at the fitness monitors desk. A reminder that all players will be restricted strictly to the squash courts and will also not be allowed access to the fitness center or tennis courts. 

 

Brooks

Friday December 14th practice courts will be available before 3:30pm and after 6:30pm. They will be available on a first come first served basis.

 

Andover

Friday December 14th practice courts will be available from 3:00pm until 6:00pm. A sign up sheet will be available on arrival.
