Please refer to the above tabs for all information about this tournament

Though the tournament officially starts Friday, we will try to schedule a few first round "local (Charlottesville / UVa) match ups" on Wednesday or Thursday night.

Smaller draws will be arranged in a round robin format. Last year all of the women's draws were held as round robin competitions.

ALL PLAYERS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO PLAY ON FRIDAY NIGHT. WE WILL ACCOMMODATE REQUESTS FOR A LATE START TIME FRIDAY (AFTER 7.30PM), BUT TO DO SO WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU BEFORE THE DRAWS AND SCHEDULING ARE COMPLETED. PLEASE EMAIL LATE START TIME REQUESTS TO MARK ALLEN AT MARKALLENSQUASH@GMAIL.COM BY NOON ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 7.

Entry Deadline and Fees

Regular Tournament Entry is until 8/31/17 at 12:00pm, NOON EST at $75
Late Tournament Entry is $95

Non-members are charged an additional $15 fee.

Policies

  • NO REFUNDS will be issued to players who withdraw from the main draw after the regular entry deadline.

Note

All players who sign up after the regular entry deadline are considered late entries. These players should assume that they are on the waitlist unless they have been told otherwise by the Tournament Director.

Accreditation

  • This tournament is accredited by US Squash.
  • All US Squash Accredited Tournaments must abide by the policies outlined here

Code of Conduct

  • All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators must abide by the US Squash Code of Conduct
  • All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators should review the Rules of the Road for tips and tricks on how to manage common scenarios that may occur at tournaments.

Protective Eyewear

  • All players and attendees must comply with the US Squash Eyewear Policy, which requires that eyewear meet ASTM-F803 standards at all times during accredited play.

Cut List

  • All age divisions are open to the highest ranked 32 eligible players who enter per division. If less than 32 players enter per division, any eligible player will be accepted. If there are more than 32 players in any division, players will be placed on a waitlist based on their ranking and will only be granted entry if a playing position becomes available.
  • NOTE: In divisions with waitlisted players, the 30 highest ranked eligible players will gain entry into the tournament. The remaining two players to be admitted into the event will be notified within 48 hours of the release of the Cut List. This is to allow a grace period for any potential registration errors.

Seeding

  • Tournament seeding is based off of the rankings calculation that occurs on the Wednesday 1.5 weeks before the start of the tournament. Players will be seeded in accordance with the Seeding Guidelines

Division and Player Start Times

All of the Withdraw and Change Division Policies can be found by clicking here.

The vast majority of the matches will be played at:

McArthur Squash Center
at Boar's Head Sports Center
200 Wellington Drive
Charlottesville
Virginia. 22903

For travel details please click here. McArthur Squash Center has 9 singles courts, including one all glass white ball doubles. The all glass court will be used for tournament matches. The Squash Desk at McArthur Squash Center can be reached at 434-972-6009. The direct line for Tournament Director Mark Allen is 434-972,7424.

The secondary venue is St Anne's Belfield School, which has 5 ASB squash courts. St. Anne's will only be needed for some matches on Saturday - how many will depend on the total size of our entry. These are located on the Greenway Rise Campus (Upper School) at 2132 Ivy Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903. The courts are behind the Student Activities Center at the rear of the campus. Directions to the Greenway Rise Campus can be found here. If your match is at St. Anne's then the court # on the draw will be preceeded by the abreviation STB. Please note that the STAB courts will only open 15 minutes before play is scheduled to begin, so those wanting to practice should do so at MSC.

Please make certain you make your way to the right campus - we have used the courts several times for other events and a lot or participants make the mistake of going to the Belfield Campus.

The two venues are 1.9 miles apart.

The Boar's Head Inn Hotel is adjacent to McArthur Squash Center, and would be the most convenient option, but it does sell out most weekends – and a long way ahead of time. Unfortunately Boar's Head is not offering a discounted tournament rate for this event.

Other quality hotels in the Charlottesville area are the Omni and the Courtyard Marriott (At UVA Medical Center and Charlottesville North).

The Cavalier Inn and Red Roof Inn are both cheap and convenient options – both less than 5 miles from the club, and rooms are usually under $100 per night.

RED ROOF INN: 434-295-4333

visitcharlottesville.org is a great resource for places to stay.

Charlottesville has an Amtrak station with direct connection from union station in D.C. It also has a small and very convenient airport that's 15 minutes from the club. Flying into Richmond is also easy - being only an hours drive away.  Dulles Airport is a 2 hour 15 minute journey – though allow at least 3.5 hours on a Friday afternoon.
