3.9.16 - Online Draws Available and Tounament Information

Online Draws are now available on the US Squash website. Please go to the Tournament Home Page and click on "view draw" for any division.

Practice courts are available at the Harvard squash courts on Thursday, March 10 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Courts are available on a first come, first served basis and will cost $5 per player for a 30 minute time slot. Players should check-in with the fitness room desk in the back of the Murr Center to reserve a court.

As a reminder, daylight savings time begins on Sunday, March 13 at 2:00am.  Please note that the time change causes a "loss" of one hour, so please plan accordingly.  

The William T. Ketcham Jr. Award for Most Improved Player is to recognize players who have demonstrated complete dedication to the sport by significantly raising the level of their game.  The boy and girl in each division who displayed the largest jump in ranking from March 11, 2015 to February 24, 2016 and also qualified for and competed in the 2016 U.S. Junior Squash Championships (Closed) will receive the award.  Please note that in order to be considered for this award, players needed a ranking in the same division on both March 11, 2015 and on February 24, 2016. This year's recipients are:
Boys' Under 11 - Evan Wen (improved 81 positions)
Boys' Under 13 - Labeeb Ali (improved 77 positions)
Boys' Under 15 - Adam W. Lichtmacher (improved 69 positions)
Boys' Under 17 - William C Holey (improved 65 positions)
Boys' Under 19 - Jacob Ellen (improved 44 positions)
Girls' Under 11 - Rhea Pandit (improved 27 positions)
Girls' Under 13 - Maya Gambhir (improved 71 positions)
Girls' Under 15 - Emma Supattapone (improved 65 positions)
Girls' Under 17 - Stephanie Tan (improved 82 positions)
Girls' Under 19 - Sumrin P. Mudgil (improved 20 positions)

The DeRoy Sportsmanship Award is presented to one female and one male high school senior who has displayed exemplary sportsmanship on and off the court while competing at a high level of squash.   
US Squash will host an awards ceremony at roughly 7:30pm on Saturday, March 12 at the Harvard Squash Courts. During the ceremony, both the William T. Ketcham Jr. Most Improved Award and the DeRoy Sportsmanship Award will be presented.

SquashGear.com will be on site at the Harvard courts on Friday and Saturday only.  Squashgear.com provides an assortment of goggles, grips, headbands, and racquets available at discounted tournament prices.  The SquashGear.com booth will also offer squash racquet stringing. SquashGear.com will not be at the tournament on Sunday, so please plan accordingly.

2016 U.S. Junior Squash Championships (Closed) Waitlist Order

NOTE: In divisions that have players waitlisted, the 30 highest ranked players have gained entry into the event.  The remaining 2 players to gain entry into the event will be notified by 5:00pm EST on Friday, February 26th, 2016.  This is to allow a grace period for any potential registration errors.

Tournament Schedule:
Friday, March 11, 2016. All players need to be available starting at 8:00am EST.
Sunday, March 13, 2016. All players need to be available until 4:00pm EST.

Unfortunately, due to the size and logistical constraints of running this tournament, US Squash cannot accommodate any scheduling requests.

Cut List, Division Start Times, Player Start Times, and Draws:
This information will be released on the tournament information page in accordance with the timelines outlined in the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.   All participants will receive an email from the US Squash Tournaments Team as soon as any of this information is available.
Late Withdrawal Deadline:
Players in the main draw who withdraw from the tournament after the late withdraw deadline will be penalized in accordance with the default and withdraw policy outlined in the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.

Entry Deadline and Fees
Regular Tournament Entry is until 2/24/16 at 12:00pm, NOON EST at $225*
Late Tournament Entry is after 2/24/16 at 12:00pm, NOON EST at $225*

*Includes a non-refundable $10 processing charge per entrant.

-          NO REFUNDS will be issued to players who withdraw from the main draw after the regular entry deadline.
-          All players MUST be current US Squash members.
-          Players who are age-eligible as of Wednesday, February 24, 2016 may compete in that age division, even if they age out prior to the competition.
-          Players may only enter one division.
-          Please read through the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines for all policies governing Junior Accredited Tournaments.
-          All players who withdraw after 12:00pm NOON on the Wednesday 1.5 weeks before the start of the tournament will receive a ranking penalty as described in the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.

Timeline and Qualification
-          The cut list will be created within 48 hours of the regular entry deadline.
-          The cut list will be based on the rankings calculation on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.
-          Division sizes will lock on the Wednesday 1.5 weeks before the start of the tournament. Once division sizes lock, division sizes will not increase in size even if the division is not at capacity.
-          All players who sign up after the regular entry deadline are considered late entries.  These players should assume that they are on the waitlist unless they have been told otherwise by the Tournament Director.

  • All US Squash Accredited Tournaments must abide by the policies outlined here


Code of Conduct 

  • All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators must abide by the US Squash Code of Conduct
  • All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators should review the?Rules of the Road for tips and tricks on how to manage common scenarios that may occur at tournaments. 


Protective Eyewear 

  • All players and attendees must comply with the US Squash Eyewear Policy, which requires that eyewear meet ASTM-F803 standards at all times during accredited play. 


Cut List 

  • All age divisions are open to the highest ranked 32 eligible players who enter per division. If less than 32 players enter per division, any eligible player will be accepted. If there are more than 32 players in any division, players will be placed on a waitlist based on their ranking and will only be granted entry if a playing position becomes available. 
  • NOTE: In divisions with waitlisted players, the 30 highest ranked eligible players will gain entry into the tournament. The remaining two players to be admitted into the event will be notified within 48 hours of the release of the Cut List. This is to allow a grace period for any potential registration errors. 



  • Tournament seeding is based off of the rankings calculation that occurs on the Wednesday 1.5 weeks before the start of the tournament. Players will be seeded in accordance with the Seeding Guidelines


Division and Player Start Times 

  • Division Start Times indicate the earliest possible match time a player can expect to play within their division.  
  • Player Start Times indicate the first match time for each player. 
  • Both Division and Player Start Times will be released in accordance with the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines


How to Withdraw or Change Divisions in a Junior Bronze, Silver, Gold, JCT, or National Championship Tournament  


If a player wants to either withdraw from a tournament or request to change divisions, follow the directions outlined below:  


  1. Log in to your account.  
  1. Go to the “tournaments” tab on your player profile.  
  1. Click on “Withdraw/Change Division” next to the tournament you would like either withdraw from or request a division change.  
  1. Select “Request Change Division” or “Request Withdraw/Refund”  
  1. If selecting “Request Change Division,” select the division you would like to change to and click “Submit.”  
  1. If selecting “Request Withdraw/Refund” read all US Squash policies and check the “Yes, I wish to withdraw” box and click “Submit.”  
  1. Once you submit your request, you will receive an email that states that your request has been sent to the Tournament Director.  If you have not received an email indicating that your request has been processed within 48 hours, please follow up with the tournament director.
