  • Entry Deadline/Fees/Policies

    • Entry Deadline: Regular tournament entry is until February 20, 2018 at 5pm, Eastern Time
    • Entry Fee: $65 for US Squash members, $80 for non-members.
    • NO REFUNDS will be issued to players who withdraw after February 20, 2018.
    • Late entries: All players who sign up after the regular entry deadline are considered late entries. These players should assume that they are on the waitlist unless they have been told otherwise by the Tournament Director.
    • Matches: 2 matches guaranteed. (If round robins are used - which happens when there are 5 or 7 entrants in the flight - will get more matches.) If you are knocked out after 2 matches, and you want more, we will try to arrange an additional match for you with someone in the tourney, or someone from Maugus Club looking to play.
    • Reminder: Protective eye lenses are required for play - no exceptions. See the Rules tab for full description.
    • Club Waiver Form: All entrants are required to complete and sign a Maugus Club liability waiver form. Form will be emailed to entrants and copies at the door if needed.

    Flights

    • Flight size: Any players that enter a draw that already has 8 entrants will be provisionally entered. A decision will be made by February 21, 2018 whether to allow any flight to have more than 8 players. We hope/expect to accept all entrants, and allow flights greater than 8, however since we only have 2 courts to work with in this 2 day tournament, we may limit individual draws to 8.
    • Flight consolidation: We will use each flight if possible, but Tournament Director may consolidate flights if less than 4 players enter any one flight.
    • Consolation draws will be held in each flight, except for round robins.
    • Women's flights: We typically break the Women's 40+ flight down into a "Women's B" and a "Women's C" flight, with winner/finalist prizes awarded to each.
    • Entrants may only enter 1 flight.

    Tourney Notes

    • Tradition: This is our 20th year hosting this tournament! This is a fun, competitive tourney, and we get many repeat entrants from year to year. See the photo albums attached to our prior tournament listings on US Squash.
    • Prizes: All entrants will be provided with a tourney dry-fit t-shirt.  Prizes will be awarded to winners and finalists in each flight.
    • Refreshments: Breakfast and Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday. Refreshments available throughout.

    Code of Conduct 

    • All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators must abide by the US Squash Code of Conduct
    • All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators should review the Rules of the Road for tips and tricks on how to manage common scenarios that may occur at tournaments. 

    Protective Eyewear 

    • Important! All players and attendees must comply with the US Squash Eyewear Policy, which requires that eyewear meet ASTM-F803 standards at all times during accredited play.

    Seeding 

    • Tournament seeding is based off of the rankings calculation that occurs on February 6th, 2018. Players will be seeded in accordance with the Seeding Guidelines

    Referee requirement

    • Winners of each match are required to referee the following match.

    Division and Player Start Times 

    • Division Start Times indicate the earliest possible match time a player can expect to play within their division.  
    • Player Start Times indicate the first match time for each player. 

    How to Withdraw or Change Divisions 

    If a player wants to either withdraw from a tournament or request to change divisions, follow the directions outlined below:  

    • Log in to your account.  
    • Go to the “tournaments” tab on your player profile.  
    • Click on “Withdraw/Change Division” next to the tournament you would like either withdraw from or request a division change.  
    • Select “Request Change Division” or “Request Withdraw/Refund”  
    • If selecting “Request Change Division,” select the division you would like to change to and click “Submit.”  
    • If selecting “Request Withdraw/Refund” read all US Squash policies and check the “Yes, I wish to withdraw” box and click “Submit.”  
    • Once you submit your request, you will receive an email that states that your request has been sent to the Tournament Director.  If you have not received an email indicating that your request has been processed within 48 hours, please follow up with the tournament director.

    Location/Parking

    • The Maugus Club, 40 Abbott Road, Wellesley, MA 02481
    • Plenty of free parking in the club lot.
    • Use the main club entrance when you arrive. The club is upstairs on the first landing.

    Locker Rooms/Towels

    • Men's locker room is to the left of the entrance hall, on the left of the long hallway.
    • Women’s locker room is at the end of the hallway at the bottom of the stairs.
    • Lockers/towels: There will be some empty lockers for guests, and towels in both locker rooms.
    • What to expect: We are a relaxed, all-volunteer club. We make efforts to make sure the club shows well, but bring an extra towel just in case we run out, and forgive us and let us know if you see something out of order.

    Squash courts

    • 2 international singles softball courts, located on the lower/basement level, near the women's locker room.

    Space for your stuff

    • There limited storage space behind the courts. When not playing, please put your squash bags/stuff outside the court area in the hallways or in the lounge across from the courts.

    Wireless

    • We have wireless in the courts area. The latest password is posted.
