3.14.18 Update

 

Online Draws Available

Online draws are now available on the US Squash website. Please go to the Tournament Home Page  to view your draw. Note that matches are being played at both Harvard and MIT, so please make sure to double check where you are playing. Facility locations are expained on the Venues tab of the tournament page.
 

Parking

There will be a $10 parking charge each day ths weekend at the Murr Center. Cash only. Please ask for a receipt if you intend to leave and return during the day.

 

Practice Courts

Courts 1-6 will be available for practice on Thursday until 6:30pm. Courts 4-6 will be available from 6:30pm. Sessions will be 30minutes long and players can sign up at the court for a practice time.

 

Warm Up area

Players will be avble to warm up in the Hall of History throughout the weekend.

 

2018 Nationals Junior Awards Dinner

Following the conclusion of matches on Saturday, March 17, US Squash invites all players, family members and coaches to attend the National Junior Awards Dinner from 7-9pm at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge Presidents Ballroom. Please complete the event registration by Wednesday, March 14 and make sure to register all players that will be in attendance for the dinner, in addition to any siblings, family members, and coaches. Tournament participants and siblings 18 and under receive complimentary registration, parents and coaches are encouraged to purchase tickets to attend. 

As the 2017-2018 season comes to a close, US Squash looks forward to recognizing the achievements of junior players, in addition to the graduating seniors and families who will be leaving the junior program. Awards that will be presented during the evening include:

  • William T. Ketchum Most Improved Award
  • US Squash's Nomination for the U.S. Olympic Committee Developmental Coach of the Year Award
  • Age Divsion Sportsmanship Award - first time being presented
  • DeRoy Sportsmanship Award

WILLIAM T. KETCHAM JR. AWARD - MOST IMPROVED PLAYER
 
The William T. Ketcham Jr. Award for Most Improved Player recognizes players who have demonstrated complete dedication to the sport by significantly raising the level of their game.  The boy and girl in each division who displayed the largest increase in ranking from March 22, 2017 to Feb 28, 2018 and also qualified for and competed in the 2018 U.S. Junior Squash Championships (Closed) will receive the award.  Please note that in order to be considered for this award, players needed a ranking in the same division on both March 22, 2017 and on Feb 29, 2018. Note - U13 and U15 consolation matches will be played at MIT on Friday. MIT will host U11 and U13 consolation and plate matches on Saturday.

All matches will conclude on Saturday in time for players to attend the Junior Awards dinner.

JUNIOR AWARDS DINNER

 

US Squash invites all players, parents and coaches to attend the Junior Nationals Award Dinner which will take place from 7:00pm at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge Presidents Ballroom following the conclusion of matches on Saturday, March 17. The following players will be acknowledged:-

 

  • Best sportsmanship per age division;
  • Most improved players;
  • Graduating junior players; 
  • Parents who are leaving junior squash;
  • US Squash's nominee for the U.S. Olympic Committee Developmental Coach of the Year Award.

 

Please complete the event registration to confirm your and your children's attendance. Players participating in the tournament and their siblings will receive complimentary registration for the dinner. Parents and coaches are invited and encouraged to purchase a ticket to attend.

Note: Once the online sign up has been taken down, no additional players will be added to the tournament.
 
Note: Players who withdraw from the main draw of a tournament after the late withdraw deadline will be penalized in accordance with the default and withdraw policy outlined in the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.

*Includes a non-refundable $10 processing charge per entrant.
 
Policies
-          No refunds will be issued to players who withdraw from the main draw after the regular entry deadline.
-          Players who remain on the waitlist and do not gain entry into their division will automatically receive a refund for their entry fee less the $10 processing fee within 1-2 weeks after the completion of the tournament.
-          All players must be current US Squash members.
-          Players may only be entered in one division.
-          All accredited tournaments will be governed by the policies outlined in the Junior Rules, Guidelines, and Timelines.
-          All players who sign up after the regular entry deadline are considered late entries. These players should assume that they are on the waitlist unless they have been told otherwise by the Tournament Director.
 
Cancelling Entry or Changing Division
If a player wants to either withdraw from a tournament or request to change divisions:
 
1)      Log in to your account.
2)      Go to the “tournaments” tab on your profile.
3)      Click on the “Withdraw/Change Division” button next to the tournament you would like either withdraw from or change divisions in.
4)      Select “Request: Withdraw/Refund” or “Request: Change Division” and click submit
  • If selecting “Request Change Division,” choose the division you would like to change to and click submit.
  • If selecting “Request Withdraw/Refund” read all US Squash policies and check the “Yes, I wish to withdraw” box and click submit.
 
Once you submit your request, you will receive an email confirming that your request has been sent to the Tournament Director. If you have not received an email indicating that your request has been processed within 48 hours, please follow up with the tournament director directly.
Tournament Policies:
 
-          All players must be current U.S. Citizens.
-          All players must be current US Squash members.
-          All players must have a minimum of three active exposures (within the past 11 months) as of February 28, 2018.
-          Age eligibility for the Junior Closed Championships is based on a players’ age on March 18, 2018.
-          The cut list for the Junior Closed Championships is based on a players’ ranking on February 28, 2018.
-          Straight bracket seeding (1 v. 32, 2 v. 31, etc.) will be used.
 
Accreditation
 
-          This tournament is accredited by US Squash.
-          All US Squash Accredited Tournaments must abide by the policies outlined here.
 
Code of Conduct
 
-          All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators must abide by the US Squash Code of Conduct.
-          All Players, Parents, Coaches, and Spectators should review the Rules of the Road for tips and tricks on how to manage common scenarios that may occur at tournaments.
 
Protective Eyewear
 
-          All players and coaches must wear protective eyewear during all activities involving racquets and balls that take place on a court at US Squash accredited events
-          All eyewear must meet ASTM-F803 standards at all times during accredited play. For a full list of approved eyewear, click here.
