HEADLINE: Damned Docs Dominate; Ducharme FINALLY vanquishes Spindler

1. Doc Temple rose like a phoenix from the ashes of his athletic career and won Div II. 

2. Doc Cochran, the Lesser, but the son of recent Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame inductee and brother of noted Olympic skier, struggled but managed to eke out a win of PFL Gordon in the Consolation Round of Div I.

3. Marc overcame a 2-1 deficit in games in the finals of Div I and won a hard-fought match over temporary President Spindler.

4. Great gallery crowd, including the young Spindlers and the even younger Hartshorne. 

5. Some players not heard from in quite a while were welcomed back to The Court. Nobody had heard from Schwabe in a while but it was fair to say that nobody welcomed him back, though he did play reasonably well.

6. Rhonda did her usually fantastic job of reffing the matches, though I suspect there will be a chill in the household at 176 South Lincoln Street over a controversial call that she made against her hubby in his match against Tim. The gallery was unanimous in its support of the ref's decision. Marc nearly won the Whiner Award but it eventually went to Tim. 

7. Many thanks to the dietary staff at The Woodward Home for furnishing the coffee and the delicious blueberry cake. 

8. It appears that everybody paid the tourney fee, which meant that I had a great lunch dining out on the town this afternoon. 

9. A tip of the hat to Henry for getting the luxurious lavatory facilities installed in time for the tourney. 

10. Nice to see some new or renewed players including the upstart Cochran, Shawn, Matt, Emily and Kim. 

11. Planning to save the gory details of the tourney for my much longer report at the Annual Meeting this Wednesday.
